If Kelly Wasn't a Saints Fan...

The thought of not being a Saints fan and becoming a fan of another team not only feels unnatural, but sacrilegious. But toying with the idea of hypothetically picking another fandom does make me wonder; do I choose the Houston Texans in honor of my Grandma from Houston? No, because I'd like a team with some history. Do I choose the Buffalo Bills in honor of my mom? No, because if it wasn't for the Bills, we wouldn't have the Kardashians*(see conspiracy theory below). Do I choose the New England Patriots in honor of my dad? No, because...just no.
I want a team that has a deep history, a crazy fanbase, and a city that I genuinely love, preferably with amazing food. Because if I'm going to go to a home game, I want to be somewhere great. The way I see it, that leaves me with one choice: The Chicago Bears.
One of the oldest teams in the league and part of one of the oldest NFL rivalries, this team has such strong roots. The fans are so passionate and they never waver from their team, even through the rough seasons. This is a group of people I'd love to tailgate with, cheer with, and surround myself with. And of course I have to mention the one and only, Mike Ditka. What a man. From being drafted to the Bears to coaching them to a Super Bowl win with them, Mike Ditka bleeds navy and orange. He's always been a player and coach that I've respected and admired, and not just because he coached the Saints, but because of who he is and what he's done. Added bonus: his signature sweater vests, oversized sunglasses, an awesome mustache, and rockin' it all while smoking a cigar. Definition of an icon. You seriously can't beat that.
In an alternate universe, I'd be screaming "DA BEARS", wearing a Brian Urlacher jersey, and eating a pizza from Lou Malnati's, washing it down with a 312 beer. But in reality, I'm still drinking 312 and I'll never say no to pizza. So here's to you, Chicago. I'm internally rooting for you, whenever you're not playing the Saints. Bear down.

*Classic Kelly Conspiracy Theory: The Buffalo Bills draft O.J. Simpson, which brought him to New York, where he met his future wife Nicole Brown. Then Simpson was accused of killing her, so he hired a team of lawyers, including Robert Kardashian, and that’s how the Kardashians name gained attention. With that attention, Kim makes a specific video and it's all downhill from there. Ergo, the Bills made the Kardashians famous.
